Meet Dr. Greenlaw
Dr. Julie Greenlaw is a third generation graduate of the University of the Pacific’s School of Dentistry — Dr. Julie Greenlaw graduated in 1993, her father Dr. Jack Greenlaw in 1958, and her grandfather Dr. Wallace Greenlaw in 1928. Graduating in the top ten percent of her class allowed Dr. Julie to be inducted into the Tau Kappa Omega (TKO) and Omega Kappa Upsilon (OKU) academic achievement honor societies.
Dr. Julie was born and raised in Walnut Creek and is a graduate of Northgate High School. She attended Long Beach State and studied Biology.
After dental school, Dr. Julie joined her father in his dental practice and was able to work with him until his retirement in 2003.
Early in her career, Dr. Julie realized that involvement in professional organizations allowed her to remain in touch with the latest issues and technologies in the dental profession. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the Contra Costa Dental Association. Dr. Julie has been involved in various capacities in each of these organizations. Dr. Julie is a Past-President of the Contra Costa Dental Society and is the past President of the Lebow Children’s Dental Health Foundation, providing dental services to children of low income families.
As well, Dr. Julie attends numerous dental courses each year to assure that she is on the cutting edge of modern dentistry. Currently, Dr. Julie attends advanced dentistry courses at Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (“LVI”), the preeminent international institution for the advancement of dentistry.
Dr. Julie finds educating and improving patients’ oral health and beautifying their smile to be very rewarding. It is with the understanding that going to the dentist is not always high on a person’s priority list that Dr. Julie and her office staff strive to create a comfortable and understanding office environment. Dr. Julie looks forward to getting to know her patients. She takes pride in a job well done when patients react with enthusiasm and excitement to their newly “renovated” smile. According to Dr. Julie, “It is a wonderful feeling to watch a patient leave the office with an extra bounce in their step all because of an improved smile.”
While Dr. Julie’s family has practiced dentistry in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 60 years, she continues to welcome patients from all over California and the Western United States.
In her spare time, Dr. Greenlaw enjoys spending time with her family, running, horse-back riding and various outdoor activities.
